Update: 10:34pm The jury in the Ricardo McCray trial has returned a GUILTY verdict!!
Below is the startling footage of the murder of 31 year old Danyell Mackin. The footage was shown in a Buffalo courtroom today during the trial of Ricardo McCray, the man accused of murdering Mackin along with Shawn-Tia McNeil, 27; Tiffany Wilhite, 31; and Willie McCaa III; 26 and injuring four others outside of City Grill Restaurant on August 14, 2010. The jury began deliberations at 2:40pm today. This has been a topic of heartache and heated debate for the entire city of Buffalo. I have no clue whetrher this young man is guilty or innocent, but hopefully with the announcement of the verdict justice will finally be served. No one has a right to take another person's life. It is senseless and unjustifiable. RIP Danyell. (Please be advised that the video is disturbing)

A rainbow coalition of androgynous characters...is this the new face of rap? I'm not so sure. But this video has snagged over 68,000 views in the last two weeks, so like it or not, the streets are watching. I'm not looking to spark a hot button debate about whether or not there's room for homosexuality in hip hop, but you have to admit these kids can actually flow!

Background Music: Wiz Khalifa feat Too $hort "On My Level" Tank top: cityloveclothing Wiz Khalifa's album "Rolling Papers" dropped today (3-29-11) Here's my review... Pros: Great beats High quality production Cons: Lyrics lack substance Monotone delivery on every song Overall Rating: 2.5 out of 5

6. Wake Up
7. The Race

If I had to sum this album up in one word, it would be “Consistent.” Wiz takes the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it approach on his third studio release, Rolling Papers. The majority of this 14 track album showcases the same relaxed delivery and laid-back stoner flow as singles “Black and Yellow” and “Roll Up.” The entire LP is comprised of a collection of melodic tempos and catchy repetitive hooks

The album begins with “When I’m Gone,” which opens up with a minute long instrumental. The beat builds anticipation, finally climaxing to unveil a pretty unimpressive monotone Wiz flow. Wiz hits the nail on the head with “On My Level” featuring Too $hort, which can best be described as down south riding music, which I’m a huge fan of. However, commercially inspired tracks like “Roll Up” and “Wake Up” fall short, being made up of sophomoric cadences and sing-songy hooks about what else but weed, money and broads.

Rolling Papers boasts an impressive line up of producers, including Stargate, Benny Blanco, E. Dan and Big Jerm and Jim Jonsin but, in my opinion it lacks the clever wordplay that we heard on 2009’s Deal or No Deal and the engaging delivery displayed back in ’06 on “Show and Prove.” Rolling papers is heavy on the synthesizer and a little too light on substance.

Overall if you’re a stoner or one of those Taylor Gang cult followers then you’ll buy it, you’ll love and much to the dismay of the rest of the online community, you’ll devote the next 7 days to posting every catchy line in your Facebook status and Twitter updates…for everyone else cop it if you’ve got an extra $9.99 or an iTunes gift card.

Favorite Tracks: On My Level, The Race, Get Your Sh*t
Pros:
Quality Production
A few nice choruses

Cons:
Flows are monotone and dull

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of a respected and beloved member of the DJ community. The NY Daily News has confirmed that DJ Megatron, whom you may recognize from his guest appearances on BET's "106th & Park" and as well as New York's HOT 97 was was fatally shot on Staten Island early Sunday morning. Witnesses heard a single shot at about 2 a.m. in the Clifton section of Staten Island. Megatron was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later from a gun shot to his stomach. Law enforcement officials would not immediately confirm his identity and said they were investigating the shooting. A friend who arrived at the scene at about 4 a.m. said she talked to him a few hours earlier. "He just called me," Lisa Torres said, "He asked me if I was going to [a friend's] party." She became inconsolable as the news sank in. "He's right there on the ground. I can't believe this," she screamed as she broke down in tears. "You're lying, you're lying! That's not Megatron right there!" Megatron was discribed as "a good dude" and "a hard worker" by all those who knew him. My condolences go out to his loved ones. RIP Mega!

The Problem With Phone Orders

[answering phone] "Cakey Cake Bakery, Jill speaking! How can I help you?"

"Hi, I need to order a cake for my boss. We have a photo of him playing golf that we'd like to put on it, though - can you do that?"

"Of course! Just bring the photo in on a USB drive and we'll print it out here."

"Great, I'll bring it by this afternoon."

Later...

"Hey, Jill, what am I putting on this cake?"

"Oh, check the counter; I left the jump drive out for you there."

[calling from the back room] "Really? This is what they want on the cake?"

"Yeah, the customer just brought it in."

"Okey dokey!"
TA DAAAAA!
