Two arrests have been made in the murder of former Hot 97 radio personality and BET host, DJ Megatron. Police have confirmed that the motive was a robbery attempt.
William Williams, 21, and Richard Cromwell, 20, both of Staten Island, were taken into custody earlier today on charges of murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

NYPD acted off of a Crimestoppers tip and arrested Williams, who then confessed on video to the murder and robbery. An eye witness was also able to identify Cromwell as one of the men in the group who shot DJ Megatron, the sources add.

Cromwell has prior arrests for reckless endangerment and grand larceny. Williams has been previously arrested on charges of robbery and rape.

DJ Megatron, who leaves behind three children, was laid to rest in Staten Island on Tuesday. His father, Ponce (Leo) McGriff , told the congregation that his son "brought me so much joy and I'm going to miss having him around." he went on to say "I loved the man you turned out to be. I was so impressed with him. I enjoyed speaking with him. I loved him."
