Earlier this week I had the opportunity to check out the brand new DICK'S House of Sport at the Eastview Mall in Rochester, NY before the official grand opening festivities take place this weekend April 9-11th. DICK’S House of Sport is an experiential store designed to explore the future of retail. With the new store concept, DICK’S House of Sport will be focused on four key areas: Product, Service, Community and Experiences inside and outside the store for their athletes.

I tried my hand at a few of the interactive experiences:

THE ROCK-WALL

The most notable in-store experience is definitely the Rockwall.

Shout of to my fellow Western New York bloggers @belleoftheball45 and @savvygirlsstyle

It's 32 feet high with varying levels of difficulty.

It's $8 for a 15 minute session which includes an overview, waiver signing and a safety session.

You can make can make reservations online or in-store and there's a professional rock climbing lead available for guidance and training.

THE GOLF PRO SHOP

You can improve your golf game with one of their three TrackMan 4 Simulator bays or the indoor putting green. There's also an on-staff PGA golf professional available for one-on-one session.

THE OUTDOOR FIELD & TRACK

The 17,000 sq. ft. outdoor field & track is open year-round and used for events & programming like baseball/softball training, yoga class, fitness boot camp, youth soccer clinic, community gatherings. This November when the weather gets colder, the field will be transformed into an ice rink.

They also have several outdoor/backyard games like corn hole, Giant Jenga and Spike Ball. If you're looking for a budget-friendly outing this is it. Use of the field is free so on a nice day you can grab a group of friends or bring the kiddos and burn off some calories. You can talso head inside to the batting cage to test your swing with your new baseball or softball bat in this interactive experience.

INSTAGRAM OPS

There are several Instagrammable backdrops scattered throughout the store.

The leaf wall in the CALIA by Carrie Underwood section.

The Rawlings glove chairs in the Diamond Sports & Fan Deck section.

The butterfly mirror in the Free People section.

The "Your Best Self" mini lounge area near the fitting rooms.

THE HEALTH & WELLNESS BAR

Features local juice company Just Juice, protein powders, healthy snacks, shower wipes and more . You can join the early morning yoga sessions and even schedule a consultation with a local wellness expert.

APPAREL & FOOTWEAR

The apparel and footwear selections are really impressive. In addition to the latest styles from brands like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour they carry CALIA by Carrie Underwood and DSG which are affordable and stylish private label brands sold exclusively at DICK'S. 1% of every DSG purchase goes to the DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation to help save youth sports.

The store also boasts the largest footwear deck of any DICK'S store and has over 20,000 kicks in stock.

FITTING ROOMS

This store seriously has everything...including a fitting room with a treadmill for gait analysis! You can see how your sports bras and workout gear looks and really performs before taking it home.

As you roam around the store you may notice that the scents change from section to section. That's because there are custom scent stations for each section of store for full sensory experience. My personal faves were the pink bubble gum in the Baseball section and leather in Golf.

THE HAUL

After touring the store and taking pics you guys know that I had to do some shopping.

I picked up a pair of the Stan Smith Kermit the Frog Adidas. The Primegreen upper is made from 50% recyclable materials. They still look and feel just like the original Stan Smiths, but a "Kermit" graphic on the side reminds you to be a little more green like Kermit the Frog.

The Adidas Ultraboost 21 running shoes in color tan. Designed for comfort and responsiveness the adidas® Ultraboost 21 running shoes will not disappoint. Linear Energy Push system increases forefoot and midfoot stiffness for added energy push with each step while a responsive Boost cushioning returns energy to your stride

The Nike Blazer Mid 77's are sleek and easy to style. The vintage treatment on the midsole and the foam tongue add the perfect touch of retro.

Here’s how I styled them. I paired them with a DSG sweatshirt https://go.magik.ly/ml/16fvt/ and sweatpants
https://go.magik.ly/ml/16fw3/ in the color Forest Night.

I also picked up a pair in White/Habanero Red.

If you're in the Western New York area this weekend, I'd definitely suggest taking a trip to DICK's House of Sport located at the Eastview Mall, 7979 Pittsford-Victor Road in Victor, NY for their grand opening event.
