Senator Barack Obama has reportedly secured the Democratic presidential nomination according to the Associated Press. According to the AP's tally of convention delegates conducted on Tuesday (May 3), Obama has finally received the number of delegates necessary to make him the official Democratic nominee. He has now become the first Black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the presidency.The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments.
