We are really on a roll! We are killing it!! It's time for CHALLENGE #3 and it's a pretty easy one...but a super important one! Today we're going to set (or update) our our default Tags/Keywords.
You should try to fill up your tag box completely for every single video.
Your keywords help YouTube determine if your content is relevant, and they help your audience know what your video is about. Adding about twenty tags per video is an ideal way to make use of keywords relevant to your video but that couldn’t naturally fit in your title or description. Each tag should be a word or phrase, that's relevant to the content of the video and/or you or your channel in general.
So for this challenge, try to come up with 15 default keywords or phrases that specifically describe your channel or specific videos that your channel is known for that will be included on each video, then as you upload a new video fill in the rest with tags that describe what that particular video focuses on.
You can use double quotes (“) to surround phrases so your video is an exact match for a long tail keyword phrase. For example: instead of tagging your video as “makeup” and “tutorial,” tag it as “makeup tutorial.” Youtube also recognizes hashtags in searches so why not throw some in there as well.
So I'll give you an example: One of my default tags is "mac nw45 vlogger" because that's the shade I wear and whenever someone wants to find a creator of that complexion I pop up.
Then go to your "Settings"
Click "Upload Defaults"
and fill in your default keywords and click save.
